Strength for the Journey Year End Report

What a Year We Had!

For Strength for the Journey, 2019 is ending on a positive note.  Through your support, we expanded programs and services and launched new initiatives.  We grew from 130 children served in our Jamao learning center to about 230 in the learning center and 7 district public schools. Your contributions are touching the lives and changing opportunities daily.  Please look at the photos and see what we accomplished!  YOU are Strength for the Journey!

The main story

The SFTJ Backpack program kick-started the school year.  Advisory member Louise Terry organized the campaign to provide backpacks stuffed with all necessary school supplies to 70 children in poor mountain schools.  SFTJ topped off the start-up by donating classroom materials to the teachers in the 7 SFTJ schools.  Patsy and Jamie Skinner sent printers to each school, and many others contributed in the purchase of batteries and inverters to insure that each school had electricity.
